I was the guy getting the call at 2 a.m. A gate down. A site manager panicking. I'd drive in — and half the time the "emergency" was a limit switch that needed a reset or a cable that had shaken loose. Ten minutes of real work, and a bill north of a thousand dollars. It happened over and over.
Meanwhile, the best technicians in this industry were retiring and taking everything they knew with them. Nobody was writing it down. The knowledge just walked out the door — and every operator paid for it twice: once when the expert left, and again on every call that should never have been a call.
I founded On Spot Solutions in 2019 to do field service the way it should be done in the parking and access-control world — dependable, expert, and actually there when equipment goes down. A decade of doing this work myself — three years inside SKIDATA and seven running my own crews — is built into how the company runs.

ATLAS is what I built to stop losing that knowledge. It's a field intelligence platform that captures the hard-won, real-world experience of working technicians — and hands it back to the whole industry. Structured diagnostic guidance, on any phone, on hundreds of equipment types, without waiting on a dispatch. The knowledge a retiring tech used to take with them now stays, gets validated, and compounds for everyone who comes after.
It doesn't replace your technician or your service contract. It fills the gap that has no owner: the hours between a failure and an expert arriving — so the call that should've taken minutes doesn't cost a fortune, and the tech who does come out walks in already knowing what's been checked.
